New Companion from Australia!

Hello Everyone!!

We had a great week here in Faro! Last Monday we were in Lisboa and I had to say goodbye to SIster Aiono. It was so sad to see her go! We had a great 2 transfers together and I don’t think we ever stopped laughing during our time together! I learned so much from her and her huge personality that I am definitely feeling her lack here (is that a thing you guys say in English??). But she is home now with her family which is so crazy to me!!

There in Lisbon I got to stay with my trainer, Sister Santos!! It was so good to see her again and stay with her before she goes home next month!!

Then I got my new companion, Sister Green, on Tuesday! She is from Australia so that is way cool! She is newer in the mission, so we are learning a lot together. We have a mission rule that we can only speak Portuguese.. she isn’t that great at the rule but I am not saying anything because her accent is SO cute!!

But basically we got here in Faro and got to work. We are in the search for new people because after our baptism of Marline we have had to drop a few people, and lost contact with a lot of our other people, so we are doing A LOT of contacts in the street, knocking some doors, and searching for new people. It’s not the funnest things, but hey it’s the way missions go. I have faith that we will find new people to teach here this next week!!

On the brighter side, I have really realized how much I have grown here in Faro. I really have figured out who I am as a missionary and have gained a lot more confidence. It is really good to see that growth actually.

A crazy thing that happened this week was that on Saturday at lunch our water stopped in our apartment. We figured it would turn back on in a few hours so we just left and started working. Then we had to go home really quickly before a meeting at like 8, while we were there we learned that the water still wasn’t working. That is when we learned that the water of Faro had been shut off because there was a broken pipe. So we quickly ran to the store to buy a bunch of water. They said it would last until Monday. We got really scared and prepared to take showers with water bottles. Luckily we woke up the next day and there was water and we could go to church nice and clean haha.

But yea, that’s about all I got to report on. Have a great week and always chose the right!!
